FINAL POST AS A SACRED HEART SCHOOL, PETONE STUDENT
This is the final post that I will make as a SHP student on this blog. While the blog will remain open, it will be solely my responsibility to ensure that all content posted in the future (if any) is appropriate and continues to uphold the RISE Values that I have learnt at SHP. While this blog has at times been focused on school work and tasks, it has also been used as a means of expressing myself. At times me or classmates have made mistakes about what we have posted - however, we have used these opportunities to learn from our collective errors. I will try and remember these lessons should I choose to continue to use this blog. Such lessons are listed below (not an exhaustive list!)

• Only post minimal personal information about yourself and others (It would be best to exclude surnames, and definitely no phone numbers etc)
• Only post material that you would be happy to view with your Parent/s watching.
• Never post personal messages to someone else that you wouldnt be happy saying to that person's face (in front of your parent/s)
• When copying information from another source - make sure you are aware of appropriate copyright notification you should state or request before posting.

St Pats Town 7's

Recently all the Kakapo boys that are going to St Pats Town next year played a sevens tournament at the college that included 48 boys who are going to be year 9s there in 2014. This is a photo of the team Emin and I were in called the Cobras. James and Hio were in a team called the Pythons.

Wharf Jumping!!

Hi everybody, you may or may not know but a youth group involving the year 8's in my class were scheduled to go to Somes Island. In the end it got cancelled but a few of the boys were still eager to do something so we decided to go to Days Bay for lunch followed by a wharf jump!

My Holidays

Hello every body, how ya doing?

The holidays have recently passed so here are three things I enjoyed about it...

1. My Birthday - I went wharf jumping in only board shorts!!
2. I saw my cousins from Auckland and my Aunt from Australia!!
3. I was in a rugby team that won a tournament in the holidays!!

Although my holidays were awesome there were still a few things I wish I had done. Here are three of them...

1. More Skiing: I did ski a few days although I wish It was more.
2. Going to the new movies.
3. Play Paintball.  

Hutt Valley Primary Schools rep Rugby

Hi everybody, I hope you've had a good holiday. In the first week of the holidays I had a rugby tournament. The team I was in was the Hutt Valley Primary Schools rep team. James Fitzgerald was also in the team. We won the tournament!!! James and I also went on to get named in the tournament team which is a team made up of the best players in the tournament. 

The tournament was played at Upper Hutt Rugby Club. The teams we had to face were Rangitikei, Horowhenua Kapiti, Mana and Wellington. We won all our games except for against Wellington (though we got a bonus point against them).

100 WORD CHALLENGE 2

Hi everybody, this is my second 100 word challenge story. I'm still writing with the prompt: 'Suddenly I heard a crack'. I hope you enjoy this story....   

100 Word Challenge

The Bloop. This is the name given to a tremendously strong underwater sound that was detected by American scientists in 1997. I had been searching for the cause of the Bloop for over a year now. I was walking through snowy Antarctica, following increasingly huge noises and sound waves when suddenly, I heard a crack. The ice underneath me gave way and I fell into a pit. The pit had a water hole where I saw a shape move past. I glimpsed an eye that looked as big as a table. I guess I had found it!!

 

100 WORD CHALLENGE

The 100 word challenge is a competition where you have to write a creative piece of writing including a random sentence. Today the sentence was "Suddenly, I heard a crack". I hope you enjoy the writing!!!

I was wandering through the jungle, slashing at the thick vines with my machete. I was on this journey to raise money for Charity.

I couldn’t believe how simple this journey had already been. I was about to sit down and have a drink, but then I heard a roar. The roar of a beast! I began to run my fastest to escape the monster, but then I came to a rickety bridge. Suddenly, I heard a crack! The bridge collapsed and the beast fell to its doom! Boy will I have a story to tell when I get back!!!

CLOUDS 05

Hi everybody, recently me and Patrick made an info graphic on clouds. Here are the instructions on how to make it...

1. Google search 'Piktochart' and log in with an account
2. Pick a theme for your info graphic
3. Delete the already made things that are on your screen  
4. Start dragging pictures and text boxes on to your chart from the column on the left of your screen
5. After you have finished the chart save and enjoy!!!

TECH

At Hutt Intermediate we started soft tech. Soft tech is focused on sewing. The year 8's are doing soft tech so we had to make boxers. First we had to choose what material our boxers would be made out of. Every body choose satin. We then had to decide what colour our boxers would be made out of. Mine is made out of black and red materials. We had to pin and sew all the seams. I'm not finished the boxers yet but they are looking good! :)          

HUTT VALLEY RUGBY REPS

In April me and some others were told that we would be nominated for a fitness test as the first stage in the Hutt Valley Rep selection process. We were told that the fitness test involved some very hard challenges like how many pushups you could do in a minute. We all found it hard but we also enjoyed it. We had to go through to more trial games but only some of us got in.

The Under13 Reps were: Dominic Bell,Luke Mannix,Chanel (Hio) Perez and Emin Kaya. An old sacred heart student form our year also got in. His name is Jacob Campion.

The Under12 Rep from our school was: Bradley Pritchard

The Under13 Reps played 2 tournaments. Amazingly we won them both!!
