THE EPIC STORM!!! O_O

We were away from school last Friday due to a severe storm that forced people indoors and cut power to lots of homes. The following is a piece of writing created from that motivation.....

EPIC STORM SURVIVAL WITH DOM BELL.
First you need to know what a epic storm is. It is when your door is rattling like someone is trying to get in your house, or a storm that is causing your windows to shatter to pieces.

1. Do not go outside!!!!!!!!
2. Make sure you have some have some candles, matches and torches incase of a power outage.
3. Make some nice warm soup and snuggle into bed
4. Thats it!!! But.........

WHAT IF YOU CANT GET IN YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

1. You must now become an 'Epic Storm' survival ninja.
2. If a big gust of wind comes towards you, get low and get in a turtle position.
3. Try and find a pole that you can hang on to.
4. Remember that if a big log comes for you, get in a low position and tackle it out of your way.
5. The final thing you need to do is find civilisation and get warm!!!!

My awesome Easter weekend!!!

For Easter I went to Auckland. It was my brother's birthday as well as my Auntie's so we got to do a lot of fun things including taking the boat out to Great Barrier Island. Just off the coast of Great Barrier Island we stopped to have a quick birthday fish. My brother was the first to catch a fish -he heaved up a massive snapper! My uncle then gave me a turn to fish. Straight away I had a fish on. It felt really heavy and was quite hard to reel in. When I got it on the boat I was surprised to see a gigantic snapper! My uncle said he usually puts the really big ones back but I had hooked its stomach and it was coming out of its mouth so we got to keep it! It tasted delicious!!!
